Ladys Island SC Real Estate
Ladys Island is a large sea island located just to the east of downtown Beaufort SC. Leaving downtown Beaufort and heading toward the beaches on Sea Island Parkway (Hwy 21) you will cut through the main commercial area of the island. Our real estate office is located about a mile from the downtown bridge on the right after coming on to Ladys Island. When you get to the stoplight at the intersection of Sea Island Parkway and Ladys Island Drive (Hwy 802) you are pretty much in "downtown Ladys Island" which is also termed the "Village Center".
Heading south on Ladys Island Drive would take you to the area of Cat Island, Secession Golf Course, Meridian Road and the main bridge across the Beaufort River to the Town Of Port Royal.
Heading north on Sams Point Road (also Hwy 802) takes you to the majority of the island's residential neighborhoods. The island is bordered on the west side with waterfront communities along Factory Creek, Broomfield Creek and the Beaufort River (the intracoastal waterway). The island is bordered on the east by Chowen Creek along Cat Island and Distant Island and Lucy Creek until you get to Sams Point Bridge which crosses over on to Coosaw and Judge Islands. Ladys island has a lot of waterfront.
There is a mixture of older established neighborhoods and newer developments on Ladys Island. Some of the popular developed neighborhoods include Newpoint, Coosaw Point, Cat Island, Distant Island, Walling Grove and Pleasant Point Plantation. Some of the popular waterfront neighborhoods include Sunset Bluff and Bluff Farm along Factory Creek, Camaroon Point, Red Bluff, and several neighborhoods along Lucy Creek.
On the north end of Ladys Island both Coosaw and Judge Islands are accessed by crossing over Sams Point Bridge at Lucy Creek. Both of these islands a very rural in character and most of the residents intend to keep them that way. There are large land tracts and well as smaller acreage parcels. You are really "out in the country" on these islands but only minutes away from "downtown" Ladys Island and Publix Grocery store. If your looking for some elbow room but do not want to be too far out then this area should be on your list to look at. There are come great waterfront properties available on these islands, especially on Judge Island which fronts on the deep water of the Morgan River.
You can access our page for homes for sale on Ladys Island which also includes Coosaw and Judge Islands by clicking Ladys Island Real Estate.
